Two charred to death as car catches fire

Two persons were killed after the car in which they were travelling in rammed into a tree and caught fire on Saturday night near Sunderpura village on the outskirts of the city.

VADODARA: Two persons were killed after the car in which they were travelling in rammed into a tree and caught fire on Saturday night near Sunderpura village on the outskirts of the city. The duo was charred to death as they got trapped in the car. Driver of the car survived the accident and fled from the spot. According to police, the driver identified as Dhaval Patel may have lost control over the car and rammed it into the trees.
Patel owns the car and he informed his family soon after the accident. However, he hasn't returned home yet. The deceased have been identified as Dr Devendra Patel, 48, who works as a veterinary doctor in Kheda, and Arun Patel, 42, former sarpanch of Karyavarohan village. A case has been registered at Varnama police station.
