Thirteen teams participate in inter-divisional cricket tourney organized by Gujarat Refinery

cricket

tournament, one of the most popular sports event of the company in Vadodara. The tournament was inaugurated by the IOCL Director (Refineries), B V Rama Gopal at the Gujarat Refinery stadium and he was accompanied by Executive Director, Gujarat Refinery, Sudhir Kumar.


Thirteen teams from marketing division, pipelines division, R&D centre, Guwahati, AOD, BGR, Paradip, Barauni, Haldia, Panipat, Mathura, Refinery headquarters CO and P&BD along with the Gujarat Refinery team participated in the three-day tournament. Sixteen matches were played at four different grounds in Vadodara.

IOCL Director (HR), Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra presented trophy to the winning team from the Pipelines division, Noida at the Gujarat Refinery stadium. Trophies for man of the match, maximum runs, best bowler and best fielder among others were given away by dignitaries during the prize distribution ceremony.

Former India cricketer Munaf Patel too had attended the inaugural ceremony of the tournament along with IOC’s national cricket players including Rajesh Powar and Pinal Shah. A cultural show along with performance by Gujarati folk artists and children was organized during the inauguration.
