Teacher held for molesting class III student

ANAND: A class III student was molested by her teacher on Tuesday, according to a complaint filed with Anand town police station. The teacher was arrested, while police also booked some parents for beating the teacher.
Officials of town police said as per the complaint registered by Chetan Patel, secretary of Charotar Education Society, a teacher of Ambalal Bal Shala, Paresh Patel, had been molesting the eight-year-old girl for the last few months.
The last time he molested her was on September 24 during school hours. She told her parents about it who approached the school management.
As per the plaint, the teacher used to abuse the child physically when she was alone. The school management registered a complaint on Tuesday.
Police booked Paresh Patel under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code and arrested him. A case was also registered against parents under sections 323, 504 and 114 of the IPC.
"We have registered the complaints, but have not yet recorded statements," said in-charge investigating officer Aswin Patel.
