Student groups face off at MSU's science faculty

VADODARA: Two groups of students came at loggerheads at M S University's Faculty of Science on Monday after one group allegedly teased a girl student. After the brawl, Sayajigunj police rushed to the campus to bring the situation under control.
Sources suggest that two groups of students entered into heated arguments which resulted into a brawl at the faculty after a second year geology student was allegedly teased by another group of students.
A BSc passout, Nirav Joshi, has alleged that a second year geology girl student was allegedly teased by a group of student leaders that included Harikiran Rao, Prajay Patel and Bhargav Patel at the faculty premises. Joshi claims that he was at the faculty as he had applied for admission in MSc (petroleum).
Rao, on the other hand, has alleged that Joshi has wrongly accused them of teasing the girl student. "We had gone to the faculty when we were informed that two candidates who were campaigning for the forthcoming university elections had entered into a scuffle. While we were trying to resolve their dispute we were wrongly framed by Joshi and his friends," said Rao.
Sayajigunj police has received complaints from both the groups and is investigating the matter. tnn
