Vadodara: The special operations group (SOG) of Panchmahal police detected large-scale cash movement through angadia operators in Godhra, allegedly linked to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
In a general diary entry registered at Godhra A Division police station, the SOG named three persons — Ward 11 candidate Ajay Vastani and party workers Raman Baria and Darshit Soni — in connection with the transactions.
According to the SOG, the money was routed through two angadia firms — P M Angadia and V Patel Angadia — and amounted to over Rs 50 lakh.
Police say the funds were intended to influence voters in the coming election. Sources said CCTV footage and other evidence related to the transactions have been collected.
Further investigation will be carried out by Godhra A Division police.
