VADODARA: Twenty-seven students have got job offers from glass industries, including Piramal Glass Limited and Crompton Greaves Limited, after six-month training provided to them by M S University's Polytechnic College.
MSU's Polytechnic College under the 'Community Development through Polytechnic' programme of the Ministry of Human Resource Development of Government of India had arranged for free training to unemployed boys, who had completed their class ten schooling.
The programme was initiated at Gavasad village of Padra taluka in June this year.
This course, 'Helpers for Glass Industries', was started with 34 boys out of which 27 boys completed the six- month training. Their training, included three-month theory by experts from Piramal Glass Limited, Haldyn Glass Limited, Philips Glass, Crompton Greaves, and Schott Glass India Private Limited at Prathmik Shala of Gavasad village.
"Further, they were offered three-month in-plant training in the factories of Piramal Glass and Crompton Greaves Limited among others," D N Panchal, principal of MSU's Polytechnic College and chief co-ordinator of the Community Development Through Polytechnic, informed.
