No arrests yet in Navapura clash

Vadodara: Police registered cross-complaints of rioting against a mob of 30 people in connection with the communal clash that broke out at Kahar Mohalla in Navapura on Sunday night . However, no arrests have been made yet.

Ismail alias Babu Sheikh, who had gone to take medicines from a doctor’s clinic in Kahar Mohalla, was attacked by four persons identified as Lara Kahar, Gatti Kahar, Dinesh Kahar and Ram Kahar after a minor road accident. Soon the altercations snowballed into stone pelting between residents of Kahar Mohalla and Mehboobpura. At least two persons were injured in the clashes. The police had brought the situation under control within minutes and had registered complaints around midnight. Police said that the four accused in Sheikh’s complaint are absconding. The other complaint too which was given by a resident of Kahar Mohalla mentions about a mob of 10-15 persons. TNN
