Newborn boy found abandoned

boy was found abandoned near a construction site on the road leading to Bhayli from Priya Cinema on Friday.


Priyanka Banerjee, who lives at Sevasi and is a construction supervisor, saw the boy on Friday morning.

Banerjee told the police that while supervising work at the construction site, she heard a baby crying. On reaching the road, she found the boy wrapped in a piece of cloth outside the site.

Police said that Banerjee tried searching for the boy’s parents, but when she could not find anyone she contacted the Childline helpline. The infant was then taken to SSG Hospital and kept under observation. Banerjee later approached Vadodara taluka police station and registered a

child abandonment

case.
