VADODARA: Three persons including the president of Kalol municipality were nabbed red handed while betting on the
Indian Premier League (IPL). The Panchmahal police had conducted a raid after receiving a tip of on Wednesday night to nab the accused.
The raid was conducted at the Maganpur village after the police received information that three persons were placing bets on the Mumbai Indians Vs Chennai Superkings cricket match.
A team of policemen along with witnesses swooped down at the house.
Three persons - Dhiru Rathod, Kamlesh Sindhi and Tushar Shah - were spotted sitting outside the house and watching the match.
They were also speaking to somebody over the phone and writing numbers on papers. It transpired that the trio was placing bets with a bookie at Godhra.
They were arrested by the police. It has come to light that Shah is the vice-president of the Kalol municipality.
