Vadodara: The dramatics department of MS University's Faculty of Performing Arts will host an international seminar on ‘Artistic Diversity and National Identity: The Role of Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Literature' on Feb 21 and 22.
It aims to explore the intersection of artistic traditions and national identity, bringing together experts from diverse artistic fields to engage with students, scholars and researchers.
The keynote address will be delivered by Padma Shri recipient Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, a renowned filmmaker, writer and scholar. Other speakers include Prasanna, eminent theatre director and social activist from Bengaluru; professor Peter Cooke, the acclaimed theatre scholar from Australia; professor Sanjoy Bandopadhyay, musicologist and sitar maestro from Kolkata; Dr Deepak Mazumdar, noted classical dancer and scholar from Mumbai; Dr Anjali Malkar from Pune; and Pravin Karkare, tabla maestro from Mumbai.
"With over 200 participants, the seminar will serve as a platform for intellectual exchange and artistic discourse," said professor Gaurang Bhavsar, director of the seminar and dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts.
