MS University
cleared promotions of 19 assistant professors in various faculties and regularised appointments of 15 head of departments (HoDs) at Faculty of Medicine during Monday's syndicate meeting.
While the promotions were cleared based on screening committees' recommendations, the HoDs were regularised based on standing committees' recommendations.
At the same time, the syndicate members also formed at a high-powered committee which has been empowered to decide over all the expenses related to forthcoming visit of peer team of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (
NAAC
).
NAAC's peer team is expected to visit the campus in November end for re-accreditation. Ahead of this the high-powered committee which comprises of university officials and syndicate members, has been authorised to take any decision related to the expenses that the university will incur for the team's smooth stay. Proposal of a syndicate member Jignesh Soni to name all the departments and faculties of the university after eminent historians, personalities and researchers was kept pending.

Vinod Makwana
, library peon at M K Amin Arts and Science College and College of Commerce, Padra, who had sought permission from the university to contest the forthcoming gram panchayat polls which are likely to be held in December.
