VADODARA: It is the school that produced the likes of Kiran More, Tushar Arothe and Atul Bedade who went on to make their names in the world of cricket. Shreyas High School is now making waves in the junior cricket by performing consistently in different tournaments over last couple of years.
Shreyas cricketers last month won the Hill Shield cricket tournament organized by District Sports Centre wherein 15 schools from the district took part.

Shreyas defeated Baroda High School in the finals by 98 runs to lift the trophy. The Shreyas boys again made their mark in the junior cricket after reaching the finals of Under-16 Boost Inter-School Tournament on Wednesday.
Shreyas School played three matches that included semi-finals against Vidhyakunj School. In the semis, Shreyas scored 275 runs for eight wickets which included two half-centuries. Their bowlers then bowled out Vidhyakunj cricket team for 248 runs. Shreyas will now meet Silver Oak School in the finals on Friday. Silver Oak School too is a part of Shreyas Education Trust.
"We have been promoting cricket and providing quality facilities including turf wickets to our children since long. Our students have been playing hard cricket and the results are there for all to see," said Pankaj Jani, managing trustee of Shreyas Education Trust.
Shreyas had won the finals of U-16 Boost Cup last year too by defeating Navrachna School by 66 runs. Hans Kahar had scored 94 runs in that match. Kartik Kakade was declared man of the series for bagging 14 wickets and scoring 79 runs in three innings last year.
In fact, Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) selectors on Thursday picked up left-arm spinner Bhargav Bhatt, also a Shreyas student, among probables for the Ranji match against Bengal that will be played from November 10. Shreyas student Kartik Kakade was the only cricketer from Gujarat who was picked up for its U-16 National Camp by the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
