VADODARA: Former India keeper,
Nayan Mongia, on Wednesday accused the
Revival Group
of taking key decisions without consulting him and being dictators.
Mongia said that he quit from the post of mentor for junior cricket as he wasn’t respected and never got a free hand due to management interference.
“I was appointed in April but I wasn’t given an appointment letter for two months. I had to ask Pranav Amin to intervene, following which the BCA gave me an appointment letter but never issued a signed contract,” Mongia said.
“They even changed the coaches and trainers just 15 days before the start of the cricket tournaments without consulting me,” he said.
The Revival Group, however, hit back at Mongia saying he took unilateral decisions. “He has worked with the BCA in the past and quit earlier too. He wanted all the coaches and trainers as per his choice and he had issues with even selection of players. The ones who are now criticising the BCA management have themselves been a part of it for years,” said Sheetal Mehta, Revival Group’s candidate for BCA vice-president’s post.
