Medico's app could help get hands for domestic work easily

VADODARA: A city-based medical student's mobile application could potentially bridge the gam between the unorganized workers and households seeking various domestic services.

Anuj Kodnani, an MBBS from Waghodiya-based SBKS Medical College, who is interning with a private hospital, is working on the application that will contain a database of workers and their skills that could be accessed by the users. It will give employment to workers who usually wait at major junctions of city in the morning searching for work and users who can get handy services at home.

Kodnani's app won accolades in Switzerland recently where he presented the idea at Global Changemakers, an international youth empowerment program. He was the only one from Gujarat and amongst the four from India who got an opportunity to participate in the program.

Kodnani, whose father is also a doctor, got an opportunity to interact with foreign affairs minister of Switzerland and various businessmen which gave him ideas about his mobile application project.

"We are extremely proud of him for creating a name for himself on an international rostrum. We want to encourage him to further pursue and seek more such opportunities and endeavours," said Dr Harish Kodnani, Kodnani's father.
