Man held for oil theft from ONGC pipeline

One person was arrested by the rural local crime branch (LCB) officials on Wednesday night for stealing oil from the ONGC pipeline in Padra. Surendrasinh Solanki, a resident of Padra taluka, was arrested after a complaint of oil theft was registered at Padra police station on Tuesday. LCB officials said that five more persons are involved in the oil theft racket.

VADODARA: One person was arrested by the rural local crime branch (LCB) officials on Wednesday night for stealing oil from the ONGC pipeline in Padra. Surendrasinh Solanki, a resident of Padra taluka, was arrested after a complaint of oil theft was registered at Padra police station on Tuesday. LCB officials said that five more persons are involved in the oil theft racket.

Solanki has been remanded in police custody for two days on Thursday. "After a complaint was registered at Padra, we began investigating the case and arrested Solanki. He informed police that some more people are involved in the theft and we are trying to track them down," said LCB (rural) police inspector J N Panchal.
The accused used to steal oil from the underground feeder pipeline in Sanpur village by puncturing the pipe.
