Man from Vadodara held with drugs in Goa

CALANGUTE: Pranav Patel, 29, a youth residing in the Akota area in Vadodara, was

nabbed

with drugs worth Rs 1.3 lakh at

Calangute

in the early hours of Thursday. Patel used to work at a restaurant in Anjuna.


Inspector Jivba Dalvi said that the Calangute police received a tip that Patel would be arriving to a location in Gauravaddo to deliver drugs to a customer. He was nabbed as soon as he reached the spot at around am. Following a search, he was found to be in possession of charas worth Rs 1 lakh and cocaine worth Rs 30,000.

The accused was working as a waiter in a restaurant in Anjuna, a tourist hot spot in North Goa, for the past three years. An offence was registered against Patel under provisions of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is in progress.
