Man falls into lift duct from 17th floor, dies

Vadodara: A 30-year-old man died after falling into a lift duct from the 17th floor at the Agora City Centre complex in Sama on Saturday morning. This marked the second death due to a fall at the complex within eight days, raising serious safety concerns.The deceased, Saidulali Shahnoormiyan was employed in lift maintenance work at the complex. According to preliminary information, he was working inside the lift duct when he slipped and fell. He was rushed to SSG Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Shahnoormiyan had married last year and was living with his wife in the city. His other family members reside in West Bengal, his native state. An autopsy was conducted at the hospital, and the body was kept in the cold storage as his relatives were travelling to Vadodara.Earlier, on Feb 21, a youth identified as Hitendra Parmar died after falling from the same complex. He was reportedly hanging from a wall on the second floor when a man, believed to be a security guard, attempted to pull him up but failed. Following the incident, the youth's family had demanded a thorough investigation.
