Man electrocuted in lift maintenance room

Vadodara: A day after he was reported missing, the body of Vijay Solanki was found in the lift repair room of an apartment building in Atladara on Monday night. Fire brigade officials said Solanki died likely got electrocuted while repairing the lift.

Solanki, who lived in Madhavnagar Apartments, went missing on Sunday after which his family began looking for him. On Monday evening, residents of Madhavnagar complained of a stench in the lift after which the fire brigade was called.

Firemen investigated and found Solanki’s body in the lift room on the terrace of the apartment. “Solanki used to live in the building colony. He may have gone to the lift room to do some repairs. When we found his body, he had an electric wire in his hand. It seems was electrocuted,” said Nikunj Azad, fire officer. Solanki, who was in his thirties, was married and had two children.
