VADODARA: Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested a man for possessing fake currency notes having a face value of Rs 2.01 lakh here on Saturday. "We had received information about a person from Bihar, who was in the city to circulate fake currency. We recovered currency notes of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 denominations from the accused," SOG police inspector M P Bhojani said.
Accused Sahil Hussain, a native of East Champaran district of Bihar, was staying in a house on rent in Ekta Nagar of Chhani for the past few months.

Hussain told police that the currency notes were supplied to him by his elder brother from Bihar.
Apart from the fake notes, the police also recovered Rs 5,890 cash and a mobile phone from the accused.
Hussain had used fake notes along with real currency at several street vendors' shops.
This is the third incident in the last three months where persons with fake currency were arrested in the city.
On August 14, J P Road police arrested Mazrul Razak, Khairul Abid Pathan and Inulhuq Hussain with 43 fake currency notes of Rs 1,000 denominations.
On July 17, Panigate police arrested Sakir Kaydawala, a resident of Dahod, for printing and dispatching fake currency notes. Sakir sent a courier consisting of fake currency notes having a face value of Rs 33,800 from Dahod to a shop in Vadodara.
