VADODARA: City-based political outfit Jagte Raho Party has registered itself with the Election Commission of India and the Gujarat State Election Commission.
The outfit has been floated by the Senior Citizen’s Federation. In the 2010 Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) polls in the city, the party had also fielded a candidate. This year too it is planning to contest the civic polls.

President of the party Praful Desai said that the organisation had been conducting a series of activities over the years to bring awareness amongst citizens. He added that while the VMC had been increasing taxes consistently, it had failed to deliver services to the citizens.
Election material brought out by the party calls the BJP and the Congress as two sides of the same coin. It also appeals women to join the movement in large numbers as half of the seats in the VMC are reserved for women candidates.
