The Indian army jawans posted in the city celebrated Diwali this year with a city-based private agency that organized several programmes.

VADODARA: The Indian army jawans posted in the city celebrated Diwali this year with a city-based private agency that organized several programmes. The event to honour the jawans and army officers was held at the Visvesvaraya Auditorium in the EME Campus and the celebrations were attended by more than 400 officers along with their families.
The two-hour celebrations included several activities like folk dances, standup comedy, interactive games with jawans, live band performance, poetry, recitation and a beautiful rangoli.

Lt Col SK Thakur, Lt Col Prashant Negi, Col Vishisht and Col Chandran were among the chief dignitaries present during the event.
Some of the events included live band performance by Outro Band, standup comedy by The Comedy Factory, poetry recitation and rangolis. The evening was made memorable as several jawans too participated in the celebrations. Senior officers were felicitated and honored with plants. The event concluded with distribution of sweets, interaction with jawans and national anthem.
