Gujarat entrepreneur appointed ETAD president

A city-based entrepreneur has been elected global president of ETAD, during the 96th ETAD Board meeting held at Amsterdam, Netherlands last week.

VADODARA: A city-based entrepreneur has been elected global president of ETAD (Ecological and Toxicological Association of Dyes and Organic Pigments Manufacturers), during the 96th ETAD Board meeting held at Amsterdam, Netherlands last week. Ravi Kapoor, managing director of Heubach Colour Pvt Ltd, a German multinational engaged in the pigment manufacturing business, is the first president of the board based in Asia.

ETAD is an association based in Switzerland, comprising top dye and pigment manufacturing companies globally. It is an international organisation representing the colorant industry worldwide addressing issues relating to ecology and toxicology in product safety.
"This is a clear indication on the growing importance of Asia and India in the specialty chemical segment," added Kapoor, who is also chairman of Indian Chemical Council (ICC), Gujarat that is home to 65 per cent of the country`s colorant industry in both dyes and pigments. Kapoor was earlier vice-president of the board.
