Gujarat ATS nabs ISIS suspect from Vadodara

According to an official statement by the Gujarat ATS, the alleged ISIS operative identified, as Zafar Ali Mohammed Haliq, 25, a native of
Zafar Ali had come to Vadodara from Cuddalore to set up a new module of ISIS in Gujarat and was in touch with three alleged ISIS operatives who were held by special cell of Delhi police on Thursday. Zafar Ali was also involved in setting up a module in Tamil Nadu, said ATS officials.
After getting intelligence input by agencies that six Tamil Nadu natives, who were wanted in serious crimes like murders, had absconded from their respective native places.
“The intelligence inputs indicated that the six absconding men were talking about conducting Jihadi activities at some unknown place. They were inspired by the ISIS and were Islamic extremists due to which there is a probability that they would plan any terror activity in the country,” said ATS statement.
After this, Gujarat ATS officials activated their network in different places and found that one such person was hiding in Vadodara. On basis of specific inputs, a team of Gujarat ATS and Vadodara police traced him from Gorva in Vadodara and nabbed him.
Zafar Ali would be handed over to the special cell of Delhi police for further legal procedure.
