Family of loan shark threatened in Atladara

Vadodara: The family of loan shark Pradeep Patel, who was released on bail, came under attack in the city late on Tuesday night. Patel’s wife Keyuri registered a complaint of rioting and threatening against five to six persons at Manjalpur police station on Wednesday.According to the complainant, the accused including one Gaurav Solanki arrived at her residence in Atladara. They began knocking on the door, throwing stones at her house and abusing Pradeep who was not at home. Keyuri told the police that when she saw out of the window, Solanki was carrying a knife in his hand and he was threatening to kill Pradeep if the latter didn’t return Rs 20 lakh.Keyuri called her neighbours for help following which Solanki and others fled from the spot on a motorbike. Pradeep was booked by the Bapod police for extorting high interest on a loan he gave to a woman some time ago. He was arrested in the case.
