, the city police registered

six FIRs

on Friday. The police said that it filed complaints after investigating the complaints and strict action will follow soon. While two complaints were registered each at City police station and Bapod police station, one was filed at Karelibaug and one in Panigate police station.


Aruna Shah, a resident of Nani Chhipvad in the old city told the City police that the accused duo Vijay Oswal and his wife Nirmala Oswal had lent her Rs one lakh three years ago. Shah had already paid Rs 2.30 lakh but the accused were demanding another Rs two lakh. The accused also threatened to kill Shah if she didn’t pay up.

Another complainant, Julekhabano Ali Saiyad, who stays in Fatehpura, told the police that Noorjahaan Bibi Saiyad had given her loan three years ago. Noorjahan had been demanding Rs two lakh towards the interest and had been threatening Julekhabano with depositing the cheque given by her.

Prakash Jaiswal, a resident of Karelibaug, had borrowed Rs 50 lakh from Sharmishtha and Nehal Desai some years ago. Jaiswal told the police Karelibaug police that he had already paid Rs 50 lakh along with Rs 18 lakh interest. But the accused duo was demanding another Rs 69.52 lakh from the complainant and even threatening to kidnap his son following which he registered a complaint under Bombay Money Lenders Act 1946 against the them.

Naresh Thakkar, a resident of Waghodia Road, was booked by the Panigate police as he was forcing Ronak Bhatia to pay up Rs 1.22 lakh including interest as against Rs 22,000 loan taken by Bhatia. The complainant had already paid Rs 43,000 to the accused but the latter threatened him with dire consequences. The Bapod police booked Mehulkumar Parmar, a resident of Ajwa Road, for threatening Niraj Joshi and demanding high interest from him on a loan of Rs 2.50 lakh.

Jitu Chauhan, a resident of Ajwa Road, has filed a complaint against Dinesh Amlekar who had lent Rs 3.30 lakh to the complainant in 2017. Chauhan told the police that he had been paying Rs 600 per day to the accused but the latter took 18 blank cheques from him. The accused was demanding more money from the complainant who then approached the Bapod police.
