Court denies bail to five in nilgai hunting case in Anand
Vadodara: A local court in Anand has rejected the bail applications of five accused in a case related to the hunting of a nilgai in the Gambhira Bhatha area under the Anklav range of the Social Forestry division.According to forest department officials, five persons were arrested on March 15 in connection with the hunting of the nilgai, a Schedule II animal, and booked under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 (Amendment 2022).The arrested accused have been identified as Ashraf Khan Raj, Lalsinh Mahida, Arbaz Khan Raj, Ashfaq Hussain Asif Miyan Malek, and Anwar alias Badar Veriya.Meanwhile, another accused, Farooq Liaquat Ali Saiyed, a resident of Verakhadi, is absconding. "We have launched an intensive search operation to trace him," a senior official said.
