VADODARA: Police have begun investigations into firing on Jitendra Agrawal, a builder, who resides at Shreeji Bungalows on Sun Pharma Road, after he filed a complaint of attempt to murder against an unidentified person at JP Road police station.
Agrawal (45) was returning to his home on Friday evening when a bullet was fired at his car by an unidentified person in a dingy lane leading to Tandalja village.

According to Agrawal’s complaint, initially he did not realize that he was injured in the firing and thought that there was a fault in his car. Police said that he stopped his car at a distance and when he got out, his leg started to bleed.
Agrawal called his partners from his nearby construction site and went to a private hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, Agrawal’s brother informed the car company and asked them to check the car. When the car company’s mechanic reached there, he saw that there was a hole in the car’s door which could be result of a fired bullet.
The builder then informed JP Road police station about the incident. Cops sent a team of forensic experts to the crime spot. Police sources said that the forensic officials sent the bullet to their laboratory to know about the weapon and from what distance the bullet was fired.
On the other hand investigators have started to check the CCTV camera footages of nearby places. “We have also asked for call detail records of Agrawal and again take his statement in coming days so that more details can be known once he is out of trauma,” said a senior police official. Though Agrawal has claimed that he does not have enmity with anyone, the cops are also investigating that angle.
Agrawal is one of the five partners in a construction project of commercial shops and residential apartments in Tandalja.
