Cops’ assault that led to suicide to be probed

Vadodara: A day after a food delivery worker committed suicide at his house, allegedly due to being assaulted by police, the detection of crime branch (DCB) has been handed the inquiry. A crime branch team will meet eyewitnesses and take statements from members of the deceased's family. On Tuesday night, 31-year-old Dilip Vasava got into a fight with some of his friends near his house in Atladara, after which police were called. Vasava's family alleged that the policemen who arrived at the spot assaulted him. Vasava then went to the terrace of his apartment and jumped off. His family rushed him to GMERS Hospital, Gotri but he did not survive. The family demanded action against the policemen who assaulted Vasava.
