City students put up spirited performance
Vadodara: City students cleared final and intermediate exams of chartered accountancy with flying colours as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on Wednesday declared results of the exams that were held in May. Harsha Tanwani topped in the city in CA final with score of 470 out of 800. Harsha, who had completed her B.Com in 2020-21, wants to pursue chartered accountancy in a top CA firm. “My preference is in direct taxation. I would join any top CA firm now,” said Harsha, whose father Mahesh Tanwani is a businessman while mother Bharti is a homemaker. While Harsha bagged the top rank in the city, Divya Mishra, Nishit Velani, Krunal Shah and Digvi Desai were second, third, fourth and fifth rankers in Vadodara. In CA intermediate level, Jiya Shah topped in Vadodara by scoring 541 out of 800 marks. “I will go for articleship and simultaneously prepare for CA final. Also, I am trying to pursue higher education from any top education institute abroad,” said Jiya, a first year B.Com student whose father Samir Shah and mother Shital Shah have their own business set-up. Tirth Shah, Shubhankar Karve, Agrawal Vishal and Debrup Biswas were the other city rankers in CA intermediate level.In CA final, the pass percentage stood at 10.19% in the first group in which 27 of 265 students who appeared cleared the exam. The pass percentage in the second group was 33.21% as 93 out of 280 students cleared their exams, while the pass percentage in both the groups stood at 7.59 % as 12 students passed in both the groups, 3 passed in group 1 and 26 cleared group 2. A total of 158 students had appeared in both groups.
