VADODARA: Two cellular phones were recovered from the central jail here on Monday. An offence was registered at Raopura police station on Tuesday regarding the recovery.
The cellular phones include one with a SIM card and another without it. Jailor H R Rathod registered an offence regarding the phones one of which was recovered from an inmate while another was found unclaimed.
According to the offence, a jawan on duty inside the jail received information regarding a phone being used in the barrack four of yard eight. The jawan Gujaba Mahadik informed the jail officials following which the phone was recovered from an undertrial inmate Vikram alias Raju Chauhan.
A surprise check following this by jailor H M Shah led the officials to the recovery of another cellular phone from a toilet in the yard two. The phone did not have a SIM card in it.
