VADODARA: Two PhD fellowships were instituted at the department of chemistry of M S University (MSU) here in the name of multi-national chemical giant Solvay. The department hopes to carry out research in newer areas that will have industrial application.
The two scholarships called 'Solvay Research Fellowships' were instituted on Thursday in the presence of MSU vice-chancellor Ramesh Goyal and Solvay Group's executive committee member and group general manager for technology, research and development Jean-Michel Mesland.
According to MSU officials, Solvay is setting up a research, development and technology centre near the city. MSU was selected for the fellowships as its chemistry department has a good track record in research.
