Vadodara: With flood waters receding in the city, cave-ins have surfaced again. Craters appeared at three different locations in the city on Wednesday, including a large one in the Mujmahuda area.
The crater in Mujmahuda was barricaded as its size was such that a car could fall into it. The top brass of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) rushed to inspect it.
Another crater appeared near Shuklanagar in the Nizampura area.
The settlement occurred under a dairy truck. The truck had to be brought out using a crane. This was the third cave-in in Nizampura.
At the VUDA Circle, a cave-in had appeared last month, and steps were taken to close it.
Sources said that water or drainage pipe leakages were responsible for the craters on the road. They added that the situation may have been aggravated due to the recent floods and waterlogging in the city.
