Vinod Rao said that they would also provide ramps for physically challenged people and braille language on EVMs for the visibly impaired.
Rao is confident that the voting would touch 90 per cent in Vadodara as they have carried out lot of awareness drive in the city as well as rural areas. "Our 6.6 lakh booth level officers (BLOs) have reached about 22.25 lakh voters in Vadodara and made them fill Sankalp Patra (take pledge) to caste ballot on the polling day. The BLOs will again reach the voters while distributing the voting slips," Rao said.
He added for every one male voter, two female voters will be allowed to cast ballot in queue as they wanted to encourage women to vote in more numbers. "We have also asked the industries to grant paid leaves to voters and encourage their employees to vote," Rao added. Over 17,000 polling officials and 10,000 security force personnel will ensure that the polls are held in free, safe and fair manner in Vadodara.
