VADODARA: The Dahod police arrested an accused allegedly involved in a series of break-ins in the district. The police expect to solve a series of such cases following the breakthrough.

In a meeting held recently, the police had devised an extensive strategy to do so. It was also decided to intensify night patrolling and erect pickets across the district to check vehicles.
The arrest of Mahesh Bhuriya of Biliya village was made during a combing drive by the police in the Dhanpur taluka. Cash amounting to Rs 4,500 was recovered from Bhuriya and this included notes of small denominations that made the police suspicious. During interrogation Bhuriya admitted to having conducted burglaries in temples and other places.
Bhuriya said that the cash he was carrying was from a burglary at a temple in Bodeli where they had opened the box for offerings in cash. He reportedly admitted to having conducted six other burglaries along with his aides. The police is conducting further investigations to nab accomplices and ascertain if they were involved in more such incidents.
