BJP appoints ward presidents in Vadodara

After a round of hectic political activity over the appointments of ward presidents in the city, the BJP on Tuesday night declared the names of the presidents of all 25 ward units in the city.

VADODARA: After a round of hectic political activity over the appointments of ward presidents in the city, the BJP on Tuesday night declared the names of the presidents of all 25 ward units in the city.
The choice had become difficult with senior leaders throwing their weight behind workers and lobbying extensively.
The list announced on Tuesday revealed that seven sitting ward presidents were repeated for the post while four former councillors were accommodated by the party.

It also came to light that the party ensured that most heavyweights and lobbies in the city were given due representation by including persons of their choice.
The list includes sitting presidents Manibhai Vachhani in ward 1, Hasmukh Patel in ward 2, Gautam Patel in ward 7, Raju Thakkar in ward 15, Dilip Agrawal in ward 16, Jayendra Shah in ward 18 and Dungarsinh Chauhan in ward 24.
The former councillors in the list include Sandeep Bhatt from ward 3, Bandish Shah from ward 8, Raju Jadhav from ward 10 and Surekha Patel from ward 11.
Others who were named as ward presidents include Rakesh Sevak in ward 4, Ajit Dadhich in ward five, Umesh Patel in ward 6, Minesh Pandya in ward 9, Bhupat Gami in ward 12, Nitin Donga in ward 13, Deepak Patel ward 14, Harish Shukla in ward 17, Sunil Patel in ward 19, Jayesh Vyas in ward 20, Narendra Patel in ward 21, Prashant Salunke in ward 22, Hemant Khanvilkar in ward 23 and Ketan Patel in ward 25.
