Baroda Film Festival Shorts 1.0 to be held on March 9

Vadodara: The Film Club of Baroda and the Film Society of Baroda are coming together to collaborate on a passion project — Baroda Film Festival Shorts 1.0.The Baroda Film Festival Shorts 1.0 aims to give a platform to the young independent short filmmakers of Gujarat to showcase their films, as well as a chance to interact with industry experts through panel discussions.Industry experts will watch these films and guide the amateur filmmakers on improving their craft. The two topics of panel discussion include ‘Filmmaker: An Unapologetic Painter or a Calculative Wizard' and ‘Cinema vs OTT'.Some of the prominent panellists include writers Niren Bhatt, Navjot Gulati, film directors Abhishek Jain, Rahul Bhole, Faizal Hashmi, Kuldip Patel, independent director Paresh Naik, actor Chetan Dhanani, Smit Pandya, and Manan Desai.A total of nine independent movies will be screened during the fest that will be held on March 9 at the Sanskruti Conference Hall, Alembic City."The entry for the festival is free, but prior registration is required," said a member of the Film Club of Baroda. "We aim to add to the city's persona of being the cultural capital of the state, where we believe films are a very powerful medium to bring societal change."
