BCA to organize awards night to felicitate cricketers in June

Vadodara: The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) is all set to organize its annual awards night for the cricketers from this year. The former as well as current cricketers will be felicitated at the award function to be held in June.“The idea is to recognize our former players who have contributed immensely to Baroda cricket and award the current cricketers for their performances in the BCA as well as BCCI tournaments,” said Snehal Parikh, CEO, BCA. During the awards night, awards will be given to player of the season, emerging player, best bowler, best batsman, best all-rounder and other categories in both men’s and women’s cricket.“We will also invite an eminent speaker to talk about cricket. This will be an annual event from now on,” Parikh added. The decision was taken during the apex council meeting of the BCA on Monday evening.During the meeting, the BCA apex council members appointed Mukund Parmar as the head coach of the Baroda Ranji team while Ajit Bhoite will be the head coach of the Under-23 team. Jacob Martin will coach the Under-19 boys, Darshan Mulherkar has been appointed as head coach for Under-16 and Hemant Indulkar will be the head coach of Under-14 boys team. BCA academy will be headed by Atul Bedade and Sanjeev Sawant has been roped in as in-charge of district cricket.
