VADODARA: Three accomplices of Wadi councillor Mahesh Rabari were arrested on Wednesday while Rabari remained absconding after they were accused of violence by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) employee on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, a Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) employee too has alleged that BJP councillor Vijay Patel tried to slap him.
VMC executive engineer, streetlight department, Subodh Shah too registered an FIR against BJP councillor Vijay Patel on Wednesday.
According to Shah, Patel barged in his cabin and demanded to see a file related to some project on Tuesday. Shah refused to show the file following which Patel allegedly abused him and tried to slap him. Patel, however, said that he had just raised his voice and the allegations of violence and interfering in government work were false.
On Wednesday, police arrested Lalo Parmar, Mukesh Marvadi and Mahendra Rabari in connection with Tuesday's case at Wadi police station.
GUVNL employees had gone to Wadi area to disconnect power connections of those who hadn't cleared their power bills on Tuesday. Rabari's factory too was on the list of defaulters. When the employees tried to cut off the power connection, Rabari and his accomplices abused and then allegedly slapped a GUVNL engineer. The staff members left the spot and came back with heavy police force to continue the operation. An FIR was filed against Rabari and his accomplices.
