: While most persons from the city who were stranded in Uttarakhand
or were not reachable have started coming back, there is no information regarding six persons from Por
near the city. Desperate relatives have even made trips to Uttarakand
to search for them. Those missing from Por include Harikrishna Panchal, his wife Sudha Panchal, Vaishali nee Ramila Parmar, Meenaxi Shekhawat, Vishnu Patel and his wife Naina Patel.
They were all together on the night of June 15 before the flood fury took place in the state. Harikrishna's nephew Mahendra Panchal who returned from Uttarakhand said that the entire group had visited Kedarnath and was staying together in the same room on the night of June 15. "They were to leave early the next morning on horseback, but have been missing since then," he said.
Mahendra added that another group from Manjalpur that was with the missing one had left the next morning. "They told us that my relatives and others were waiting for their horses to come so that they could leave the place. After this there is no news of the missing persons," he said.
Mahendra made trips to the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun , Haridwar and Rishikesh to look for his uncle and aunt, but was unsuccessful and returned on Tuesday night. He said that the son of the missing couple Jignesh would leave for Uttarakhand on Thursday.
