Three cellphones were caught from the Vadodara central jail premises during a patrol on Saturday night.

VADODARA: Three cellphones were caught from the Vadodara central jail premises during a patrol on Saturday night. One of the instruments was seized from a sadhu of Vadtal Swaminarayan Ashram, who is serving term in a murder case.
The complaints were lodged with Raopura police station. According to police sources, the plaint was lodged by Munaf Thakore, a jail official.

Thakore was on the rounds of the barracks on Saturday night when he confronted prisoner Madhav Prasad Swami due to his suspicious behaviour. On frisking, the cop found a cellphone and a battery on Prasad.
Manoj Prasad was convicted for the murder of Gajagar Swami in Vadtal Swaminaryan Ashram in Anand and had been transferred to Vadodara central jail from Ahmedabad some time back.
Police have also booked prisoner Ajmuddin Ansari and Govind Girish, both convicts, who were also found with Nokia cellphones and batteries.
