VADODARA: Twenty six candidates are now in the fray for remaining eleven seats of registered graduates’ category of M S University’s senate body – elections of which will be held on January 8.
After scrutiny of forms, three sitting senators representing Faculty of Journalism and Communication, Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Education and Psychology were declared winners uncontested.
On Friday, the last day of withdrawal, five candidates withdrew their nominations. Prerna Parmar withdrew her candidature from Faculty of Arts, Ami Ravat and Mohsin Vohra withdrew their nominations from Faculty of Technology and Engineering and Faculty of Pharmacy respectively. From Faculty of Law, two nominations of Kamal Pandya and Meghna Patel were withdrawn leaving three candidates in the poll fray.
After withdrawals, there are two candidates each in fray for one seat each at Faculty of Science, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Family and Community Sciences, Faculty of Performing Arts, Faculty of Technology and Engineering, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Management Studies. Similarly, there are three candidates each for one seat at Faculty of Fine Arts and Faculty of Social Work while there are four candidates contesting at Faculty of Commerce.
