2 sisters’ bodies found in river

Vadodara: The bodies of two sisters were found from the Narmada river near Karjan in Vadodara district on Saturday. It is believed that they ended their lives after being reprimanded by their father.The bodies surfaced in the river on Saturday afternoon near the Fatehpura village. Local residents informed the police who fished out the bodies. They were identified as that of Dimple Patel (19) and her sister Siddhi (17).Karjan police inspector A K Bharwad said that the sisters had left home on Friday afternoon after being reprimanded by their father. “The father had come home in the afternoon for lunch and realised that they had not prepared food. He reprimanded them for the delay and left,” Bharwad said.Their father Pravin Patel is a farmer. The girls had to go out on Friday for some work because of which they could not prepare food. The police believe that the girls might have felt bad for being reprimanded and hence took the extreme step. Bharwad said that their mother had died in 2007.
