14 arrested in liquor raid

VADODARA: Acting on a tip-off,

Waghodia

police raided a farmhouse in Vasvel village and arrested 14 persons consuming alcohol.

Those who were caught included Darpit Patel, son of former deputy mayor and BJP councilor Yogesh Patel. Four cars parked in the farmhouse were also seized. All the arrested for medical tests and were granted bail on Friday morning.

Yogesh Patel said that the party was organised ahead of the wedding of a friends of his son. He added that Darpit and some others had just reached the party and had not consumed alcohol when the raid took place. “They were amongst the last to reach the venue,” he said.
