UDAIPUR: The ACB arrested the executive officer of Amet municipality in Rajsamand district and his senior assistant for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh on Tuesday night.

Executive officer Krishnagopal Mali and senior assistant Balwant Singh had demanded Rs 4 lakh from a complainant to issue the layout plan of his plot after land use conversion and allotment of lease deed, said ACB officials. The duo had been harassing the complainant with the demand of bribe, they added.

ACB officials verified the complaint and laid a trap, which led to the duo's arrest. The ACB team recovered Rs 41,500 from the pocket of Mali and Rs 1 lakh from his car during the trap. A case has been registered and further investigations and searches at the residences of the accused are on, said ACB officials.
