UDAIPUR : A 21-year-old student of Dungarpur Medical college in Rajasthan died by suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of the college hostel building on Wednesday.
The deceased, identified as Sudhanshi Singh, had written a note on her palm before jumping off the building.
Head constable of Sadar police station, Popatlal, said the MBBS student jumped from the sixth floor of the hostel.
According to sources, the Bharatpur resident lived alone in the hostel room. Some girls in the hostel saw her going to the general bathroom and shortly after that she jumped down from the balcony of the room.
Upon hearing the sound, other girls living in the hostel reached the spot. After falling, her head was torn apart.
The first-year student was immediately taken to Dungarpur Hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.
After receiving the information, Dungarpur SP Kundan Kanwariya, Surendra Solanki CI Kotwali and Madanlal SHO Bichhiwada police station also reached the hospital.
Before this this extreme step, Sudhanshi wrote on her palm “From now onwards, I will not make any mistake, my promise, sorry mom, dad, brother and Rohit'.
Her body was kept in the mortuary of the hospital and the family members were informed.
THe police were collecting information from the hostel staff and students. The real cause of the death will be known after the arrival of her family members from Bharatpur. The girl's father is a teacher in a private school.
