More than 100 fall ill due to food poisoning at community meal

Udaipur: More than 130 people in Udaipur’s Bhindar police station area fell sick from suspected food poisoning on Sunday evening. The affected individuals, mostly women and children, were treated at the Bhindar sub-district hospital. Block CMO Dr Saket Jain said that based on the preliminary investigations, food poisoning was the reason due to which people fell sick.According to official information, the Choubisa Samaj had organised a community meal on the occasion of Ekadashi. The program was organised for those fasting on the occasion of Ekadashi. Around 1,500 people attended the program. Shortly after consuming the food, people started complaining of vomiting and nausea. The family and relatives rushed them to the hospital for treatment. Gradually the number of sick people in the hospital grew.One woman whose condition became critical was referred to MB Hospital in Udaipur. Other patients were treated at Bhinder sub-district hospital. The medical department has formed a team to investigate the reason for food poisoning.

Four people died of food poisoning in Kotda tehsil, Udaipur district after a pre-wedding ceremony. Thirty-two others were hospitalized. Samples collected for investigation, some referred to a hospital in Gujarat.

Four people died and 32 others were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning at an engagement ceremony in Kotda, Rajasthan's Udaipur. The incident occurred at the engagement ceremony of Chatra, son of Puna Pargi, in Sawan Kiara village, as confirmed by Ashok Kumar Singh of Kotda police station. The attendees fell ill after returning home from the dinner.
