UDAIPUR: Taking action on the criminal complaint lodged by Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel, cops at the Pratap Nagar police station here has initiated an investigation. On Friday, cops went to the temporary residence of the
Patel leader and recorded his statements. The statements of two evidences were also recorded.
On Thursday night, Hardik had gone to the police station and complained of receiving threat calls from an unknown mobile number.
The caller who used abusive language asked Hardik to keep himself away from the Patidar Anamat Andolan and warned of dire consequences if he didn't do so. The threats came in form of calls as well as messages. The caller allegedly threatened to harm his family members back in Gujarat and abduct his sister.
" I received the first call which was from a Mumbai number around 8 pm. Later the caller rung again when I was at the police station," Hardik told TOI.
However, he didn't pick the second call as per the advice from the authorities.
"First we will find out about the owner and user of the mobile number from which the threat calls and messages were sent and later appropriate action will be taken," Gokul Dangi, the investigating officer said.
