UDAIPUR: Rajput Karni Sena state president Bhanwar Singh Saladiya was seriously injured after he was shot at during a meeting in Udaipur on Sunday morning.
Saladia sustained bullet injury in his waist. He was admitted in the hospital. The incident took place in B N University of Udaipur. People present in the meeting nabbed the accused and thrashed him before handing him over to the police. The incident took place when Saladia was going for refreshments after addressing the organization's meeting in the university.
One Digvijay Singh Baheda approached Saladia on the pretext of talking and suddenly opened fire. The accused was present in the program and was waiting for it to end.
The accused is former district president of National Rajput Karni Sena, who was removed from the post about four months ago.
Prima facie,mutual differences is said to be the reason behind the shooting incident. A country-made weapon was found with the accused.
Udaipur SP Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav said that accused Digvijay was removed from the post of district president because of dispute. We are probing the matter from all aspects. Meanwhile, Bhanwar Singh is undergoing treatment in the hospital and his condition is out of danger.
