Headmaster gets life term for sexually assaulting six

Udaipur: A govt school headmaster convicted of sexually assaulting six schoolgirls in Dungarpur district a year ago was sentenced to life imprisonment by the POCSO court on Friday. The court condemned the accused, a teacher, for violating the sanctity of education and imposed a life sentence without parole, along with a fine of Rs 3.14 lakh.
The case, initiated in May 2023 at Sadar police station in Dungarpur, revealed allegations that the headmaster molested girls aged 8 to 12 at the govt school where he taught.
The incidents occurred during school hours and on holidays, under the pretext of school activities.
The abuse came to light when one girl reported injuries, prompting a police investigation that gathered evidence.
