Youth, three juveniles held for assaulting father-son duo

Trichy: Woraiyur police arrested a 18-year-old youth and three juveniles on charges of assaulting a father and son duo due to personal enmity.Police identified the accused as D Tamilselvan, of Woraiyur Mettu Street and three juvenile accomplices. On the night of April 24, the youth and juveniles scaled a private compound wall near the house of G Arun, 22, from Viswanaicken Pettai Street in Puthur. On noticing the youth and boys over the compound wall, Arun and his family caught them red-handed and reprimanded them for the behaviour. The youth and three boys were later sent home by the family after an inquiry. However, feeling insulted over the incident, Tamilselvan and juveniles returned to the spot on the night of April 25 and abused Arun and his father, Ganesan. In a fit of rage, the youth and juveniles assaulted the father and son duo with a wooden log and threatened them. Police added that Ganesan sustained injuries in the assault. Based on a complaint from Arun, police arrested Tamilselvan and remanded him in judicial custody. The juveniles were produced before the juvenile justice board authorities and accommodated in a home.
